Congratulations to Sarah and Rafael on their recent wedding on April 19, 2014! Matt and I were pulled back into photographing weddings for this secret occasion. The couple kept their big day a surprise for their families and opted for an intimate ceremony and dinner with their closest loved ones. We are so happy for Mr. and Mrs. Oquendo and hoping you are enjoying your newlywed bliss!
If you have been following my blog over the last few months, you have seen my excitement over the union of these two. On April 12th, we drank drink champagne... danced on the beach... and celebrated the marriage of Athena and Scott Simmer at Lovers Key in Bonita Springs, FL.
I spent time with the bride and groom as they got ready at Lover's Key Resort, then attended their ceremony as a guest, and later captured the couple's bridal portraits with Matt before the reception. What a beautiful day! Athena was glowing, Scott was dashing, and their family and friends were rich in sentiments expressing happiness for the newlyweds. A friend of Athena for nearly 20 years of my life, I like many of her friends was ecstatic that she finally met her soul mate. Someone she connected to in every way and on every level, someone who brings her happiness and truly compliments her. Her sister, Alexa, summed it up in her toast to Athena saying "You carry the heart of everyone who knows you... You now have a man to carry yours". We all adore Scott and can't wait to see what the future holds for these two. For now I leave you with the sweet intimacy and giddiness of love on Athena and Scott's wedding day and a few surprises at the end...

Rather than the usual blog post I write for sessions, I thought it would be fun to feature a write up from a client about their experience. This is not just any client... this blog post is written by my talented best friend, Athena Ponushis, who happens to be a writer (Florida Weekly) and will be getting married in April (so excited)! Congratulations to Erik and Caitie on their recent wedding on October 26th, 2013 at the Lake Valhalla Club in New Jersey. What an amazing wedding this was!! The family, the friends, the food, the venue! We had such a fun time capturing the celebration. Going through all the photos, it was hard to decide what to share from the Schaum wedding. So many beautiful details...
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Kratt on their recent wedding at The Strand in Naples, FL. What an amazing venue for Stephanie and Stephen's celebration on October 12, 2013. We loved photographing these two and know you will enjoy their wedding images as much as we do. Stephanie was a ridiculously gorgeous bride. Her dress was probably my favorite photograph yet!
And a few giggles over my laugh... I think they were laughing with me, right?
Every frame in my camera was cuter than the next. Happy birthday to Agustina who will be turning one at the end of this month!
I have to start by thanking April, Nick's mom, for being the BEST baby wrangler I have ever worked with. We had prior history working together when I photographed Nick's sister, Lindsey and her twins. I showed up at the beach at 7 A.M. and was greeted by April with toys in tow ready to make Harper smile and giggle. Harper was as CUTE as can be but proved to be a little bit of a challenge for the experienced baby wrangler (April) and myself. As the sun rose, her smile finally surfaced and we were able to capture this adorable family in true fashion (#chevron). I was excited to work with Shea for a couple reasons... We have been Instagram friends for the past year and I have been in love with Harper's cheeks almost as much as my own's daughters! I also knew she had impecable style, hence the chevron skirt and Harper's adorable hair bows. Here is a peek of a few of my favorite images from the session...
Married at the Edison & Ford Winter Estates in Fort Myers, Ryan and Clay had a gorgeous ceremony in front of the historic banyan tree with a small group of their friends and family on June 15, 2013. It was a honor to be a part of their special day and we enjoyed capturing their portraits among the historic homes, romantic gardens, and spectacular river view.
